In the early 2020s, the globalised world was forced to pause as the coronavirus appeared. As covid continued to spread and put increasing strain on our healthcare system, hospital bed occupancy became the benchmark for far-reaching hygiene protection measures.
We used the time to analyse our PGXperts product portfolio and plan future developments. As experts in Medicines Therapy Safety (AMTS), we wanted to create a solution for hospitals to relieve the strained resources in the inpatient environment. The fact that a large number of hospital admissions are due caused by medication issus further highlighted the demand for a PGXperts integration for the inpatient environment.
In the prescription of medicines, the safety of patients comes first. Unsuitable combinations of medicines and resulting interactions are the causes of avoidable therapy errors and prolonged stays in hospitals.
Our PGXperts PRiM, developed since 2020, provides comprehensive digital medication management across the clinical course based on an AMTS curve and enables Personalised Risk Management in the medication process through pharmacogenetics. With the support of PGXperts PRiM, the prescription of medications is being reviewed, AMTS is increased and a pioneering role in the medication process has been taken through the integration of pharmacogenetics.
We have already been able to prove the efficiency and safety of PGXperts PRiM in drug prescribing in the first pilot clinics.
